The VFW Auxiliary has announced donations to several local organizations. The first was a $1,000 donation toward the Portland Public Schools delinquent lunch program. This was matched by a companion donation of $500 from both the VFW and American Legion Post 129.

Also, The Auxiliary has donated $200 each to Freedom Acres, Rave, Portland Community Chest, VFW National Home for Children, Toys for Tots and the VFW National Home food bank. That's an additional $1,200 in money going to great causes.
